I took my first herkie photo back in 2011, not even realizing the jump I did had a name or that it is a common cheerleading jump. I just jumped in front of the “Welcome to the United States” sign after crossing the boarder from a trip to Canada. It was only after I jumped, that the person taking the photo (my wife) said, “You just did a herkie” and then proceeded to tell me what a herkie is. From that point forward, I’ve taken a herkie picture pretty much everywhere I go.

I’m blessed to live in scenic Idaho, and I’m also blessed to have a job where I travel. I’ve pretty much driven the entire state of Idaho so the majority of what you will see are from my work trips. Most pictures are taken by my wife, who always laughs uncontrollably at the silly faces I make, but a few have been done by friends and colleagues that just happen to be with me at the time.

I hope you enjoy this website showcasing my quirky hobby and if it brings a smile to your face, then my efforts have all been worth it.

P.S. I do realize that my herkie form is far from perfect. Don’t judge, just enjoy.
